Meet Lizzi

Thanks so much for stopping by to meet me!

I write about: the Old West, colonial New Zealand, veterinary fiction and non-fiction, all with a horsey flair.

I grew up riding wild in the Santa Cruz Mountain redwoods, became an equine veterinarian at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and practiced in the California Pony Express and Gold Country before emigrating to New Zealand.

I have two wonderful boys and an awesome partner in this sea of green. When I’m not writing, I’m swinging a rapier or shooting a bow in medieval garb, riding, driving a carriage or playing on my hobby farm, singing, or working as an equine veterinarian or science teacher. I’m multiply published and awarded in fiction, special interest magazines and veterinary periodicals.

If you’d like to be kept updated on new releases, pre-release specials and giveaways, be sure to sign up to my Lizzi Tremayne’s Blue Mist Publishing Newsletter at the top of the right hand column!

Thanks again for stopping by, hope to hear from you soon!310bc-lizzietre

  2. Hi Lizzi, how’re you doing? Looking forward to Christmas?

    • Thanks for asking, Charlotte!
you look like you’re going great guns, and doing such an awesome job keeping us all posted!
Successfully completed NaNoWriMo! Half of full sized novel completed (draft) in one month. Wouldn’t have believed it possible.
Yep, looking forward to Christmas, plus, it’s summertime here, though raining today!
When you want to try a summertime xmas, head south, WAY south!
      Hugs from NZ,

      • Congrats with the NaNoWriMo, I love that you stuck with it to the end 😉

I would love to get to NZ especially in December, there were flakes of snow in Glasgow today and bad storms. Plus I woke up with a sore throat :/ bad colds doing the rounds at college and I’ve four concerts booked this week arghhh!

Hi Lizzie, I have just finished reading your book, A Long Trail Rolling, and absolutely loved it and felt i could follow the trail taken by the Pony Express riders by your description and also the maps at the start of the book. I also learnt a lot about the history of the Pony Express, I found it hard to put the book down. I met you at HOY earlier this year and enjoyed talking to you about your life. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series when it is printed.
    Thank you

    • Thank you so much for your feedback, Shirley! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
It WAS nice speaking with you at HOYS!
Working hard on the next one as we speak!
If you have the time and the inclination, on the Book Reviews page (tab at top), there are buttons to click which will take you straight to the review page for the various sites, such as Amazon. This is one of the best ways for new, and indie, writers to become recognised!
Thank you again for your comments!
      Kindest regards,
      Lizzi T
